About Marble Elementary School
BE SAFE, BE COURTEOUS, BE A LEARNER
Welcome to the Marble Elementary website. Marble Elementary School is a K-4th grade school. We currently have an enrollment of 365 students with three classrooms at the 2nd-4th grade levels. We have three full day kindergarten classrooms. We have several special programs and services to support student learning including a Resource Room, the STARS program, a Literacy Support Teacher, a Social Work/Child Guidance Consultant and a Speech and Language teacher. Most of the students attending come to us from the Marble, Bailey, Central and Glencairn neighborhoods in East Lansing. We are also proud to say we are a school of choice for many families from cities and towns that surround us. Our educational family includes over thirty faculty and staff. The Marble Code has three components: To Be Safe, To Be Courteous and To Be a Learner.
The
Marble staff continues to work on school improvement using the the North Central Outcomes Accreditation (NCA) process. We have defined three goals in the area of Literacy, Mathematics and School Climate. We have outlined instructional strategies, professional development activities and assessments that will serve as our outline as we complete phase IV of the process. We are proud to have received accreditation through North Central for the past two years of our involvement.
Marble has an active parent council group that meets the second Thursday of each month from 7:00-8:30 in the media center. Childcare is always provided and parents are encouraged to participate.
We invite you to visit our site throughout the year as we update the classroom pages.
